The Common Denominator Of Success

The secret for anyone who has ever been successful at anything is to form the habit of doing what failures don't want to do. Success, therefore, is "un-natural"; it cannot be achieved by following our "natural" instincts, habits, or preferences.

What are these things that failures don't like to do and that successful people are willing to do? They are the same things no one likes to do.

Then why do some people do them while others don't? Because successful people want to achieve their goals. Successful people are motivated by pleasing results and will do whatever they have to do to achieve them. Failures, on the other hand, are motived by pleasing methods and will accept whatever results are possible by doing only what they feel like doing.

Doing the right things part of the time is not good enough. Successful people form the habit of doing the right things, all of the time. Disciplined people do what they know they should do, whether or not they feel like it. They live their lives on the basis of decisions, not feelings.

Since success is not a natural state, we will have to change to be successful. We must set our sights higher. Learn more about the common denominator of success.
